Welcome to your second week of Judging a Film by It's Trailer! Let's see if we can make this one out on time shall we!
So in case you didn't tune in last week, here's the deal;
Using the list courtesy of Launching Films, I watch the trailers of all the movies (hopefully, if not as many as I get to in time) being released in UK cinemas on the coming Friday. Give my basic thoughts, and categorise them into Green, Orange and Red, dependent on my desperation to watch them. The categorisation is pretty basic, but I'm only watching the trailers so that's the point. Snap decisions based on often badly constructed representations of the final product. Woooo for badly informed choices!
If you want intelligent review, step away now.
Friday 11th April 2014
- The Quiet Ones
- Calvary

- Pioneer

- Willow And Wind (Beed-o Baad)
Lets get to it then shall we!

I do love a bit of Charlie Brooker's eviler twin (Jared Harris) but don;t see much more of interest here.
Verdict: Red - Starting to find I am very particular about my horror. When I get to the bottom of my criteria I will let you know.
Quite excited by this after seeing a ridiculously tall free standing poster at The Little Theatre. Kept fighting against the trailer though as it feels like a grim advert for Visit Ireland. 'Here are all our current export actors who are doing pretty well. we'll even throw in a Dylan Moran, and here is our stormy wild landscape. Visit Ireland....'
I do want to visit Ireland, but on to the film. Again I will always aim to support British cinema, but I am genuinely intrigued by this. I always have a curiosity around films with religious overtones (not because I particularly enjoy them, most of them are downright infuriating but it is still something I find interesting.) Plus Brendan Gleeson is awesome. Sold...and Visit Ireland.

Verdict: Green - For all the reasons stated above. Not going to rush out to see it, but do want to see it.
Again Blogger is tantruming about uploading the YouTube video so I hope its the same. If in doubt try the link.
Already messaging film buddy to tell him we must see this. Looks intense. Looks bizarre. Have to admit, I'm already hoping it will make up for Under the Skin (2013) despite having no idea what it is about. If you want to know my problems with that particular film you can read my review here.
