Apologies, broken laptop, crappy Blogger app and too lazy to use coding means you only get crappy images from my iPhone camera now! I am so good to you.
These are the 'Reel Heroes' comic cover editions of two of my favourite films and they are fricking gorgeous!
Awesome comic style ('general geek me' gets excited), matte sleeves highlighted with Spot UV ('geeky magazine publisher employee me' gets excited), and an altogether wicked bit of marketing ('geeky advertising/marketing fanatic me' gets excited).
We have hit the trifecta here peeps! She's gunna blow! *Super geek out moment.*
According to BGroup London, the agency behind the campaign, here were the main results (I can't even do bullet points on this stupid app, my only options are Italic, Bold or select image from phone. Kill me, please!);
Initially released exclusively through HMV in the UK, the range proved a huge success tripling average sales of the titles and selling at a price 40% higher than before.
Dammit I couldn't even quote it.
Further proof of how successful a little bit of creativity can be in driving sales and promotion.
You can find the rest of the info from BGroup here.
Now I've just noticed that they've released a The Big Lebowski (1998) version in the second wave. I'm off to stare and salivate.
I went and stole an image from Anazon just for you lot. Hopefully when I come to a better arrangement for Blog posting I will be able to properly source and credit images. :(
AWESOMESAUCE!!
Edit: Again, being compulsive I have had to go back through this post and sort links and formatting. Please don;t think I am going crazy!
